1:00 p.m. — 1:45 p.m. Presenters Bryan Johnson (Church Rietzke Johnson, PLLC) and
Eric Shelton (Stuart E. Shelton Injury Law, PLLC): “Best Practices for Working With
Mr. Johnson and Mr. Shelton will discuss working with PIP, Medicare and other subrogation interests: Best Practices with Subrogation in PI Cases. Subtopics are first party auto claims coverage, subrogation negotiation under Mahler and progeny, working with healthcare plans, ERISA v. non-ERISA, and Medicare.
1:45 p.m.—1:55 p.m. Break
1:55 p.m.—2:40 p.m. Presenter Marie Docter (Briggs and Briggs): “Effectively Handling Automobile Property Damage Cases”
Ms. Docter will cover handing uninsured and underinsured property damage claims, loss of use and diminished value claims, how to effectively use property damage evidence in the personal injury claims, and how to avoid pitfalls.

2:50 p.m.—3:35 p.m. Presenter Tyler Goldberg-Hoss (Chemnick Moen Greenstreet):
“You can help too! When Medical Negligence Victims Call”
Mr. Goldberg-Hoss will equip attorneys who do not typically handle medical negligence claims with some tools to allow them to help people who call them with such a claim. He will provide a brief overview of medical negligence law, issue spotting, and resources
available to them.

3:45 p.m.—4:30 p.m. Presenter Brett Stetzner (Law Offices of Harold D. Carr): “Attorney Fee Awards in Trial de novo”
Mr. Stetzner will discuss procedural considerations when seeking attorney fees and costs against a defendant who fails to improve his/her position on trial de novo after appealing a mandatory arbitration award. This topic will reflect on a favorable jury verdict Mr. Stetzner received in the summer of 2018 against State Farm Insurance Company.
