Thurston County seeks an experienced executive with a strong background and diverse expertise in public defense issues and policies for the position of Director, Public Defense. The Director will have strong administrative skills to manage, administer and execute public defense efforts that provide quality legal representation to court-appointed clients.
The Director also provides the Board of County Commissioners with expert guidance and advice regarding programs; ensures the mission and goals of the Department are carried out; and proactively promotes the Department’s goals and mission. As an energetic and passionate leader, the Director advances the Department’s mission, builds strong alliances; and develops and puts into motion long range plans to further develop and expand the Department’s mission and goals.
