Attorney Training for Service as Pro Tem Judge on August 24-25, 2018

Dear SCJA E&F Members,

In addition to supporting SCJA E&F Committee, I also support the DMCJA’s Diversity Committee. The Committee organizes a bi-annual pro tem training that is meant to support and empower attorneys from diverse backgrounds to consider positions on the bench. Please see the flyer and email below about the upcoming Pro Tem training. Please feel free to share with your networks!

Thank you!
Cynthia

Envision your career path as a judge. Take the first step by enrolling in the Judicial Pro Tempore Training!

Attorney Training for Service as Pro Tem Judge August 24-25, 2018 @ WSBA Conference Center, 1325 4th Ave, Suite 600, Seattle In-Person and Webinar See attached flyer for details and registration link: https://www.mywsba.org/PersonifyEbusiness/CLEStore/CLECalendar/MeetingDetails.aspx?productId=13956410

The Judicial Pro Tem Training is a collaboration between the District Municipal Court Judges’ Association’s Diversity Committee and the WSBA, and is held every two years. The purpose of the training is to reach attorneys from diverse backgrounds who may not know about this particular pathway to the bench, and sharing information about what it entails, in the hopes of increasing the pipeline of diverse attorneys ready to become judges.

Even if you are on the fence about whether this path is one for you, I encourage you to attend to at least learn about what it entails. The WSBA has graciously agreed to provide a limited number of scholarships to any member of a Minority Bar Association that is interested in attending that may need financial assistance. If you have any questions please let me know! Please share this invitation far and wide!

Thank you,
