It is time once again for the annual Law Day Speech Scholarship Contest co-sponsored by the Thurston County Bar Association and West Olympia Rotary.
The speech contest is open to all high school students attending high school in Thurston County. If you know of any Thurston County high school students who might be interested, please pass this information on to them. The deadline to submit their intent to participate in the speech contest is Tuesday, April 14, 2026, by 5:00 p.m.
There will be a preliminary round on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Thurston County Superior Court. Please arrive by 4:45 p.m. The top three speeches will advance to a final round on April 28, 2026, during a West Olympia Rotary lunch meeting at 12:00 p.m. at the Viewpoint Room below Tugboat Annie’s. The total prize money awarded by the TCBA to be split among the top three speeches is $2,300 ($1000 for 1st place, $800 for 2nd place, and $500 for 3rd place) and each of the three winners will receive a plaque from the West Olympia Rotary Club.
