It is time once again for the annual Law Day Speech Scholarship Contest co-sponsored by the Thurston County Bar Association (TCBA) and the West Olympia Rotary.
This speech contest is open to all high school students attending high school in Thurston County. DEADLINE: You must notify the TCBA of your intent to participate in the speech contest no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 15, 2022. Please email your intent to participate with your name, grade, school, and contact information to tcba.info@nullgmail.com.
The virtual preliminary round will take place on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. on Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent to the participants closer to April 20th. The final round will be on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. during a West Olympia Rotary meeting at Tugboat Annie’s.
The topic is: Should governments have the ability to force vaccinations? For more information about the topic, please email tcba.info@nullgmail.com.
Prize money will be awarded to the top three speeches. The total prize money to be split among the winning speeches is $1,800 and each of the three winners will receive a plaque from the West Olympia Rotary Club.
